Herbs for Bunnies

can rabbits eat blackberries

Even if you don't have the space, time or energy to tend to a vegetable garden, you probably have enough of all three to grow some herbs. The internet is full of options for growing herbs indoors in cute little pots and jars. Maybe you are already in the habit of adding your own mint leaves to fruit salads and iced tea. You might use your own basil for homemade pizza or cut your own cilantro for salsa. Well, next time, don't forget your bunny. Here's a short list of common herbs that most bunnies enjoy.

Basil: Always a big hit. Smells wonderful too.

Rosemary: Only appreciated by a few, but good for weakness, exhaustion and depression

Blackberry: Leaves and fruit, by increasing circulation, it helps the bunny stay cooler

Dandelion: Helps with respiratory issues, and I haven't had a bunny that didn't love it

Cilantro: Most bunnies like this, but it can turn their pee orange, so feed in moderation

Mint: Helps with digestion, but DO NOT feed to babies.

Oregano: Helps the immune system fight off sickness

Strawberry leaves: Keeps them healthy

Plantain: Most bunnies love this and it's great for their overall health

Celery Leaf: Don't throw away the leaves when you cut celery sticks!

Parsley: Another easy one to share with your bunny

As with treats - when first introducing, please feed in small quantities in moderation.
