Holland Lop Color Guide

Orange black tort broken holland lops kits

Holland Lops come in a wide variety of colors.  Some of those colors sound a lot alike.  For instance, I was a big fan of the blue shades: blue point, blue seal, blue, broken blue, squirrel, blue frosty, blue pointed white, blue sable, blue seal point, blue otter, etc.  Of course, your odds of finding some of these colors are pretty low just because of the genetic odds, and the low number of breeders working with those colors - but technically they are still possible, and you might find a breeder that focuses on your preferred color in their color project.

If you are in the market for a holland lop, I would strongly encourage you to look through our color guide.  This will help you see the full span of the color spectrum.  Knowing the actually names of the colors will also help you communicate with breeders more easily.  When a breeder says they have black seal, but no black, what are they talking about?  How can you tell a black otter from a black silver marten?  When a breeder talks about points, what does that look like?

So, in an effort to help you visualize some of the less common colors (of which I had quite a few) - we put together a color guide.
